Note: You must have an alias to use the messaging system in Blockmarket Desktop. Follow these instructions to create one. 


Sending a Message in Blockmarket Desktop:

  • Click on the 'Messages' tab at the top. 
  • Select the 'New Message' option on the drop-down. This will take you to the following screen.                                                                                                 


  • Enter the following information:
    • From - Your alias. 
    • To - The alias of the person you are sending the message to. 
    • Subject - The subject line of your message.
    • Message Content - The body of the message you are sending. 
  • Click on the 'Send' button at the bottom once you are done. This will incur a small fee and you will be prompted to accept the fee once you click Send. 
  • Once the message is confirmed, you will be brought to the “My messages” screen. Click on the blue “Sent” button to view your sent message.


Receiving and Reading Your Messages in Blockmarket Desktop


  • Click on the 'Messages' tab at the top. 
  • Select 'My Messages' from the drop-down menu. This will take you to the following screen (if you wallet is locked).                                                                 


  • If your wallet is locked, press the small lock icon on the top right of the screen to unlock it. 
  • Once your wallet is unlocked you will be able to view your messages.                                                                                                                                                     


  • The inbox will display any messages you have and include the date received, name of the person that sent it, the alias they sent i to, the subject of the message, and body of the message. 


Replying to Messages in Blockmarket Desktop


  • From your inbox (shown above), click on the message you would like to respond to. The following screen will appear.                                                         


  • The GUID (the transaction number of your message), from, to, and subject line will automatically populate when responding to a message.
  • Enter in your desired response.
  • Click on the 'Send' button at the bottom once you are done. This will incur a small fee and you will be prompted to accept the fee once you click Send. 
  • Once the message is confirmed, you will be brought to the “My messages” screen. Click on the blue “Sent” button to view your sent message.
